Small Mammal Habitat

The Small Mammal Habitat will house small Florida wildlife such as the gray squirrel, opossum, raccoon, and skunk. The study of these animals is required as part of the two-week curriculum, prior to attending Nature’s Classroom, that prepares the students for the academic adventure they will experience when they visit. The Small Mammal Habitat will include night houses, and will be relocated to higher ground to avoid the flooding which has resulted from El Nino. This habitat will blend in with the natural environment, and comply with the latest Florida Wildlife and Game facility codes.
